For each benefit period, a Medicare beneficiary pays under Part A: ■ A total of $812 for a hospital stay of one to 60 days. ■ $203 per day for days 61 to 90 of a hospital stay. ■ $406 per day for days 91 to 150 of a hospital stay. ■ All costs for each day beyond 150 days. Skilled nursing care—Medicare also provides some coverage for a skilled nursing facility (and home health care when medically necessary). 50 per day for days 21 to 100; and ■ All costs beyond the 100th day in the benefit period.
